Our Houston Symphony Adventure: A Night of Music, Memories & Magic

This past Saturday, my husband Duke and I had the pleasure of stepping into the stunning Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, home of the Houston Symphony, for an evening that can only be described as captivating. And yes, I spent nearly four hours shopping for the perfect outfit. Because let’s be honest… I’m that girl!

We usually attend symphony concerts in the late fall or winter, so my go-to wardrobe tends to be cozy, dark-toned, and layered. But with the fresh bloom of late spring drifting into early summer, I craved something light, elegant, and seasonal. After a fun fashion hunt, I finally landed on a beautiful white silk skirt from Mango, paired with a creamy top, simple yet sophisticated. I complemented the look with fresh, glowy makeup and pulled my hair back into a sleek ponytail to let my face and outfit take the spotlight. I felt effortlessly elegant and totally me.

And of course, no special evening is complete without a new fragrance. I picked up a fresh bottle of My Way by Giorgio Armani, a modern, elegant floral scent that tells a story. It’s perfect for feeling feminine and confident without being overpowered. I love associating scents with memories, and this one now instantly takes me back to that night: the music, the atmosphere, the joy of being with Duke.

Also, this story wouldn’t be complete without mentioning that Duke rocked his outfit. He wore a linen suit with a classic undershirt: simple, clean, and so effortlessly stylish. He pulled it off perfectly and, of course, complimented me too. There was a quiet confidence in the way we stepped into the hall, dressed up and enjoying the moment side by side.

The Concert: A Cinematic Soundscape

Under the brilliant conductor of Steven Reineke, the Houston Symphony took us on a nostalgic journey through the legendary collaborations of John Williams and Steven Spielberg. Spanning over 50 years and 29 iconic films, their partnership has shaped the cinematic soundscape of our lives.

Hearing the suspenseful chords of Jaws, the soaring wonder of Jurassic Park, and the haunting beauty of Schindler’s List performed live? Absolute goosebumps.

But it wasn’t just the music, it was the experience. The greatness of the orchestra, the way the hall vibrated with every note, and the flood of memories those melodies stirred. Sharing all of that with Duke, someone who loves the arts as much as I do, made the night even more special. I couldn’t stop smiling. It was one of those rare evenings when everything just feels perfectly aligned.
